Insect Articulation

Buzz...Buzz...Buzzzz, the annoying mosquito in your ear. Ever wondered how this sound gets produced? No, not from the mosquito mouth.

So here I'm trying to show the movement of wings and how the articulation of different components creates the specific, especially in mosquitoes the movement of wings are not like the ordinary insect like this ..... Mosquitoes are bad at flying because they are not able to move their wings like a bird with a full or half circle. But they have found a way so that move their wings so fast they start producing that buzzing sound we hear while sleeping.

showing the movement of wings using wood as a medium was tricky but somehow after many trials I tr found the correct mechanism, Creating a smooth surface using wood and rubbing it thousand times was quite boring but that experience gave me a lesson of patience.

In the image below you can see the joint in detail:-

Explaining in front of an external juror was my first-time experience and yes I was a little nervous, but now after giving my presentation I'm able to give up on my fear of talking on the spot!
