Shrine for the sea god !

For me, god lies in the experience of the space which helps to nourish myself and make my life easier. Anything can be God, whether it is stone with orange Tilak on it or energy which has no form but we can sense or see its glory.

In the case of Mirya, the entire village lies between the sea & the khadi is the backwater. The whole economy and the lifestyle of the village used to be and still at some point is influenced by the sea and the sea used to play a non-replaceable character case of all Mirkars. From catching the fish to selling it in the market the person always has the sea in their mind as the central figure. One of the most important features that nature has provided us is sunlight. I don't think that I have to explain what will happen without sunlight. Light gives us an opportunity to manage our world and achieve our dream.

Next to the road to the Mirya adjoining backwater lies the temple of Mahapurush. Locals believe that the Mahapurush is the Creator and protector and has no form. It is the energy that helps people but at the same time, the fishermen of the village also believe in the sea god, as the sea serves them. Their overall life is dependent on the sea itself.

Then comes the popular myth in the village that the sea god (Samudradev) and the Mahapurush both have been fighting from the moment the Mirya villagers started worshipping Mahapurush. In between this what I feel is that it is the question that whom to worship. I feel that it is more practical to worship Seagod as we all have scientific evidence about how important it is! Also, the light from the sun is the most needed thing for Life on this planet to sustain.

So as to honor as well as to keep our health good, we need a space to discover ourselves.

As per psychology, working close to the ocean with ambient sunlight helps to boost productivity and is good for our mental health. Being connected to nature and society helps to create new ideas and exchange thoughts and this is what I think the real worshipping of the sea really means, learning, enjoying,

and experiencing the glory of nature.
